The proposed Industry 5.0 concept issued 2021 by the European Commission is putting the focus of supply chain and operations research and management on the human factor. Distinct advantages like resilience, sustainability and competitiveness for companies are connected to the idea of human-centered processes at all levels. The research implications are far-reaching as a complete new lens of operations analysis has to be developed in order to support such human-centered process design endeavors in industry, logistics and retail processes across the board. The presentation outlines these challenges and provides a draft pathway for future research in this area as important field for successful supply chain operations.
This seminar will take place in T09-67 (Mandeville building) or join online.
